By now, we should have performed our pieces but we had to change the deadline. This came about because of a number of things; the Easter holidays which were at a really inconvenient time and in addition to all the training days and bank holidays, we hardly had any time at school to rehearse. We were given an extra rehearsal date and one when the Year 10 review day was but unfortunately, our group couldn’t go to either of these dates as on review day, Jack had school and couldn’t attend and on the other date, I couldn’t make it as I was rehearsing for another show I was doing at the time.
It is very helpful to us that the deadline has been extended as if it was back at the original date, we would have struggled to even finish setting the play never mind polishing it (link to blog post on polishing a piece of theatre). I am very grateful but we still need to work hard as the date is getting nearer.
